Since its origin in 1985, the not-for-profit Christmas In St. Louis organization has promoted numerous charitable causes and diverse activities that make the holidays special in this part of the world. To date, Christmas In St. Louis has supported more than 100 individual charities, creating greater awareness of their benevolent efforts and attracting more donations and volunteers.
But that’s not all. Christmas In St. Louis is best known for organizing the Macy’s Holiday Festival of Lights, plus the annual Ameren St. Louis Thanksgiving Day Parade, a hugely popular event in downtown St. Louis on Thanksgiving morning and TV coverage throughout the greater metropolitan St. Louis area.
By supporting holiday lighting, decorations and special events, Christmas In St. Louis helps boost St. Louis’ reputation as a magnet for tourism, shopping and entertainment during the holiday season.
That’s why our slogan is “A Special Time in a Special Place.”®
Annual funding for Christmas In St. Louis activities is donated by major corporations, small and large businesses and other civic organizations. Additional funds are generated by sales of colorful holiday apparel. All proceeds from Christmas In St. Louis initiatives are dedicated to supporting holiday events and charitable organizations in greater St. Louis, and attracting visitors and shoppers to festive St. Louis during this special season.
