Every year the Christmas In St. Louis organization is proud to support the diverse traditions and community activities planned for the holiday season in greater St. Louis. We applaud the hundreds of large and small local groups whose annual events and charitable activities encourage all St. Louisans to celebrate the holidays in their own special ways.
For more than 20 years our non-profit, all-volunteer organization has been dedicated to promoting activities that inspire people of all faiths to show their unique holiday spirit while enhancing the texture and heritage of the St. Louis community.
This year the popular “Festival of Lights” ceremony will occur Wednesday evening November 21st, at Keiner Plaza downtown starting at approximately 5 p.m. Special celebrity guests and Santa Claus will attend this festive tree-lighting event and celebrate the holiday season with a huge fireworks display featuring the Old Courthouse and The Gateway Arch as a backdrop.
Thanksgiving morning the Christmas In St. Louis organization will host the 23rd annual St. Louis Thanksgiving Day Parade, starting about 8:40 a.m. It will be a crisp morning, but the perfect way to begin the holiday season with your family and friends.
As in past years a portion of contributions from our sponsors and proceeds from our events will be used to present donations to at least two St. Louis family-oriented charities to help support their missions during this season of giving.
On behalf of the entire Christmas In St. Louis organization and our Underwriting Sponsor, Ameren, and all of our additional sponsors that support our mission, I wish you a Happy Holiday Season and a truly blessed New Year!
