Safety/Risk Management Guidelines


1. A Certificate of Insurance must be submitted with the completed application (template enclosed). Applicants will not be allowed to participate without proper insurance documents.
2. All units must be in excellent operating condition
3. All motorized participants are required to have working fire extinguishers on board the units.
4. Units with riders aboard larger than automobiles or with open wheel wells may be required to have “wheel walkers” stationed by each wheel. This will be reviewed by the parade committee.
5. Absolutely NO throwing or handling out (distribution) of anything without prior
approval of the parade committee.
6. Any infractions of these or any other safety rules may preclude participation in the
parade.
7. No Santa Claus outfits are allowed in the parade as there is only one Santa Claus.
8. In the interest of safety, weapons, firearms, and/or explosives, including fire crackers, can not be allowed, except as carried by law enforcement/security officials.
9. To protect the interest of companies and organizations providing support for the Parade, no commercial / promotional signs, logos, give-away’s, etc., can be allowed on the Parade route without prior approval from the marketing committee.
10. No person marching in the Parade is permitted to carry or display, or cause to be displayed any sign or other material which identifies him or her as a candidate for any elected or appointed office, or which advocates any position on any topic of public debate. In keeping with 501(3)(c) requirements of the Internal Revenue Code, tax exempt organizations are prohibited from participating or intervening in political activities.
